HCM City – Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Thien Nhan has asked local governments and universities to norminate a person as Deputy Minister of Education and Training.
The new deputy minister will be responsible for scientific research and international cooperation among other tasks.
He or she will replace Tran Van Nhung, whose term of office ends next October.
Candidates for the job must have been a chairperson of a municipal or provincial people’s committee, director or deputy director of a national university, principal of a university or college, or chief of an education ministry institute or department.
They must also be persons of probity, enthusiastic about the cause of education, and possess experience in education, scientific research and tertiary education administration.
Finally, they must be under 55 in case of men and 50 in case of women, possess a doctorate, and be fluent in at least one popular foreign language, with priority given to English.
Nhan is also the Minister of Education and Training. |
