Sanyo to build electronic component plant in Vietnam

Japanese electronics manufacturer Sanyo will pour 95 million USD into an electronic component plant at the Quang Chau Industrial Zone in northern Bac Giang province.
The company on July 10 received an investment license from the provincial authorities to set up the Sanyo-HQ Vietnam Electronic Component Co. Ltd to carry out the plant construction.
This will be Sanyo’s third plant in Vietnam , following its first to manufacture home electric appliances in the northern region and the second to produce digital cameras in the southern region.
The future plant will be built in September and is scheduled for completion by April 2009.
It is expected to generate 12,000 jobs and bring in more than 300 million USD in annual exports after three years of operation.-
